7 x 12 Steel Frame Trailer

C-TEK Fiber Optic Splicing Trailer

Welcome to CCE Technologies C-TEK Fiber Optic Splicing trailer. The fiber world is the fastest growing means of communication in recent history. Along with this growth has come the need to supply the right environment for this work to be performed. It seems that everybody and his brother has tried to supply this need. We see horse trailers, cargo trailers, tents, trucks and everything in between being passed off as fiber splicing units. What sets us apart from all the rest? In the next few moments we will answer that question for you.

When we first got into this product line we knew that the only way to make a good name for ourselves was to build a well-designed, high quality Fiber Optic Splicing trailer at an affordable price. We never wanted to be the cheapest, or the most expensive. We did want to be the best for the buck.

We challenged our engineering staff to pay close attention to six areas, strongest frame, floor rot, roof and front wall leaks, generator, must weigh less than 4000# and last but not least it must be priced under $20,000.

First came the frame. This is without a doubt the heart and soul of the Fiber Optic Splicing trailer. If we failed here we would be just another has been. The base is comprised of 2”X6” tubing and 4” formed channel. These parts are all welded while being held in a fixture. This insures the quality of the base. The sidewalls are 1 ¼” square tubing again welded in a fixture and then welded to the base. The roof bows and front wall bows are then welded in place and the Fiber Optic Splicing trailer is ready to clean, prime, and paint.

The first thing that is done after paint is the floor, remember that floor rot was one of the goals that we gave our staff. Our engineers found a product that is made out of re-cycled rubber products. It is 1 ½” thick and is tongue and groove. The manufacturer covers this with a 20 year warranty. It insulates much better than wood and is far more durable than anything we have found to date.

The interior is next. Steel base cabinets, aluminum overhead shelf and a tougher than nails counter tops are all installed. The counter is 38" tall. Fiberglass laminated to 3/8 OSB make up the  walls and ceiling. Again our goal of, “best for the buck”. While all of this is being done our electrician is busy with all the wiring inside and out.

Time for 1” R-11 commercial grade insulation on all the walls and roof. Now it is time to install our .040 aluminum siding. Most people use .030 aluminum. We found out that .040 aluminum doesn’t dent as easy as .030, again best for the buck. This is not screwed on to the sides it is bonded in place. No more of those unsightly rusting screw heads.

The front wall and roof are made in our own fiberglass plant and are made to very exacting specs. The front wall is bonded in place then the molded one-piece roof is put in place and you can see by the pictures that it wraps down over the side and front walls. Anytime you have a seam in a front wall or a roof you will have a leak someday.

For the generator we chose the "QuietPact" generator made by Generac that is installed in most RV campers. These amazing generators come in their own metal enclosures suitable for mounting outside on the tongue of the trailer. Every time you start a generator it puts out two harmonic vibrations. The first is physical, you can feel this in the counter top and see it in your splicing machine. The QuietPact is rubber mounted to offset this effect. The next is created by the sound of the generator. We mount the generator on the tongue and it comes with an internally mounted muffler. When the QuietPact generator is running you can stand next to it and talk in a normal voice.

Deck it out with a 13,500btu air conditioner with 5,600btu heat strips, put on the strobes and finish the rest of the light package and you have the best fiber optic splicing trailer for the buck. Finished and out the door under 4000#. Don't forget about the 16" ground clearance for getting you through those tough situations.

We do something else different from all our competitors; we price our Fiber Optic Splicing trailer out on each spec sheet.
